Anhydrous zinc nitrate, in its pure form, is a hygroscopic, crystalline, usually powdery, white solid. The zinc salt crystallizes from water as zinc nitrate tetrahydrate (Zn(NO3)2 · 4 H2O) and the commercially available zinc nitrate hexahydrate.
